can you get the # of shutter actuations?

Otherwise, I would just give it a good testing. Take several shots at various ISO, check for dust on the sensor, make sure the buttons don't stick or something weird with the controls. :dunno:

assuming all checks out, it's a pretty good deal.

do you already own nikon lenses? if so, you can get the body brand new at Helix Camera for under $900... http://helixcamera.com/Digital/nikon/dslr/d90.html

I'd also get the number of shutter clicks. That would be the determining factor for me.

You can prob take it for 825 to 850, so i would haggle a bit, but yeah get it.

Cool. Thanks, guys. Now I've never bought a DSLR before, so I'm not sure what the correct protocol for this sort of thing it. Since I'm getting a good deal on it, after the transaction should I shove him down and poop on his chest, or is that normally just done in the P&S community? (*note* I've since quit selling my old P&S's and just throw them away now.)

Yes. He's only here for a few days. The only stipulation is that I have to cash a check for him and we are gonna split that money on top of my already good deal. Fuggin SCORE!

Well, this thread started off serious, but I when I saw the chance to derail my own thread, I took it. I could not help myself. I am a weak person.

Brought my laptop and checked the EXIF and an image. Everything looked good, the camera was pristine, boxed, etc, and it only had 1500 actuations. Guy had Canon gear and thought about switching and changed his mind. So now I Nikon DSLR crew. Start the timer.
