Something is wrong with my D70, an auto focus my pictures come out really out of focus. POS

So I'm having it serviced and will be without for a month.

Anyway suggest a comprable Canon I should get...

    30D? :dunno:

Who the hell did you send it to that is taking a month to fix it?

Hell the damn Nikon headquarters is out in Cali. Authorized Photo here in the Midwest has a 3-5 day turnaround.

I sent my D200 in due to dead pixels and it only took the CA repair center a week and a half to replace the sensor and send it back...a month does seem long

    looks about right.. :dirkon:

So your thinking about swapping it for a canon? or just buying a canon? sounds expensive.

shit goes wrong, no need to abandon a brand because you've had one problem with it. just sell it for a d200.

i bought it when it first came out, about two years?

my wife is the educated photog, i'm the point and shoot guy.

the DOF on nearly all of my pictures is fucked up. if i'm taking a group photo only one person is in focus the rest are out. I tried uping the fstop but that didn't help at all.

Check out this pic to see what i'm talking about, I have kids and I need something that will autofocus quickly and correctly. I know the fstop is a bit low on this but the camera USED to take pictures of groups well.

okay, so if you are taking the photos right then the camera is just front focusing. Nikon should be able to adjust it in no time.

It'll be expensive to swap just for the hell of it :)
