I have heard many good things about this camera. I have also heard that since there is no viewfinder, taking outdoor pictures is tough. Is that enough of a problem to warrant not buying it? Also, how are pics uploaded to the PC? I have used a Coolpix 800 before and I know you plug the adapter into the USB port and then plug in the memory card. Is that how this works? Thanks. Any additional info would be great.

there is no viewfinder... strictly LCD. Taking outdoor pictures is a little rough because the viewfinder dims a lot, and it's hard to see what you're taking a picture of through it. A lot of people ask me "how come the flash doesn't come on when it's so dark?", but the picture comes out perfectly

Pics are uploaded to the PC through a USB cable on the side.

What additional information would you be interested in?

Hey thanks for the info! My father has an adapter that he plugs in to the USB port on his computer, then he simply inserts the memory card into that. It acts like a totally different drive for the photos he took. If I didn't get that adapter, how would I upload the pics? Just plug it in, then hit the transfer button? I've seen some sample pics, is the quality is good as it seems? With the camera I am going to get a 256 MB card so I can take more than 1 or 2 fine pics, is that all I will need?

You plug the USB cable into the computer, and there's a small slot on the camera for USB connection. After you hook it up, all you do is transfer.

BTW, you can take quite a few pictures on the highest setting with the included 16 meg card. At 1024x768 and on NORMAL (not FINE or BASIC), I can take about 70 pictures. With my 128 meg card, I can take upwards of like 500.. it's pretty cool :)
