A&P Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF vs Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX

    is the 35mm really worth the wait + extra cash?

    Which focal length do you prefer? Some like 35mm, some like 50mm. On crop, 50mm is pretty long. Get the 35mm if you want a "normal" fov, get the 50mm if you want more of a "portrait" lens.

    I agree.. I have a 50mm and most of the time it is just a bit to long for what I want to use it for.

    why not the nikon AF 35mm 2.0?

    My guess is that the 35 f2 is $370, and the other two lenses he listed are under $200 :dunno:

    I have both and greatly prefer the 35mm. I like to carry just my 35mm and 90mm. The 50mm was just too tight on a crop body.

    Tho, i'm currently looking into getting a 20mm or something similar and that will probably replace the 35mm for general shots.
