A&P Nikkor 80-200 2.8 price jump

    When did this guy go up in value so much and why? Last year it was around $850 now it's approaching close to $1000.

    Yeah, I wanted to buy one but now they're getting less and less common. I think it's because people realized that the optical quality of the 80-200 isn't really any different than the 70-200 VR, and if you get the AF-S one, doesn't focus any slower. You just don't get the VR, which isn't worth the extra grand or so it costs to get a new 70-200.
