    I currently take pictures at nightclubs using my D80 w/ 17-55mm 2.8.

I have a Nikkor 18-200 3.5-5.6 i would like to try out in the club. Would this lense be good enough for the low light shots?

i tend to set my camera to 3.5 - 6 on the 17-55mm sometimes to get a more broad DOF for groups so i dunno.

i dont' think it'll make a big difference due to apertuer but just want more opinions

    Edit: I also have a SB-600 w/ a Gary Fong diffuser

do you have a flash?...if not pick up a SB-600 and one of those gay diffusers like the fong sphere or whatever it is called. Should work....might want to stay on the low end of the 18-200 and try not to get too far from the subject.

Try just fucking around in low light in a room to see how it would work.....:dunno:

I am sure it isn't too hard to create a club like atmosphere in your living room.

from my experience, u'll want the widest lens u have + flash and then use 2nd curtian sync or whatever its called.

u'll never get close u using anything past 70mm in a packed club.
