New year, still posting on here, even though i've been keeping mine in BAG i might as well start it up here again.

Did my first meet, hit [email protected] in December

Weight floats around 192-195 right now, trying to slowly get to 205 and compete at 198

Next meet is tentatively in April, IPA Powerpalooza, i'd like to get close to or break [email protected] in single ply squat suit + single ply bench shirt, but upgrade my briefs to Metal Pros. So we'll see. Would be nice to break 1500 and bench 315 raw before I turn 21 this year. Will be training with Scott Yard on weekends now once I get back to school in a couple weeks.

Thanks dude, yeah I've been benching twice a week with a lot of volume for the past couple of months and it's helping. I think if I can get myself to be able to recover from the MM workout I just did on around Wednesdays and then bench (whether it's shirted or raw work) with Yard and co. on Sundays, things should hopefully work out nicely.

yea , well i think you can get away with lots of upper body work, i just dont think its as demanding as heavy squats or deads. benching is a piece of cake

Not for everyone, some people have a hard time with certain lifts, my OH sucks. Are you going to be doing all raw work Nick-o?

well, i meant more like it's not as taxing on your body, not that it's as easy to increase as squats/deads

During the week when i bench yeah, but with the PL crew on weekends I'll do whatever they are doing and listen&learn. Probably will be a lot of technique/board work and then more and more shirt once the meet gets closer.

Squats and deadlifts are definitely harder to recover from, none of the best benchers at my gym squat or deadlift.

interesting. There are two videos on youtube of Gene Rychlak doing SSB squat 900x5

    and also

    Gene Rychlak 1005lb squat

    I was pretty impressed

But yeah I never feel really tired or worn out after benching
