so I have a guy in side control and he gets an underhook and turns to his knees. Immediately lock my arms as he's turning, and get to his side. Then you use your forearm on the back of his head to tip him over. He should tip back onto his side, and as soon as he does.. shove your arm all the way through and lock up the brabo choke. If you have just started training, then don't try this, and stick to something more basic. If you have started playing around with the brabo choke, and want a good entry.. this is one. That's milton viera in the pic by the way.

right after the fifth pic, in the "detail" pic.. im not sure what hes doing with his knee. maybe thats just showing the fact hes kinda leaning over. but i just keep cranking their head down.. and they always tip over, and then its real easy to reach my bicep and finish the choke.

Nice, I just learnt this move today from sidemount -> knee on mount -> transition into the brabo choke when he tries to escape and hips out.

is that the one that mayhem pulled off in his HL vid, or was that more of just an anaconda choke?

that was a brabo grip > backwards anaconda choke type thing. It doesn't really have a name. It's like a reverse anaconda choke.. I still haven't got that one down yet. I can do it if a guy lets me do it, but I can't pull that off on anyone in sparring. Jason miller uses all these chokes like CRAZY, they are a staple at cobra kai in las vegas

very :coold:. at first glance, i thought it was an anaconda, but his positioning was really different. neat...beyond me though :o

i've been scouring to find some of jason miller's adcc and other grappling matches -- no luck :hs:

in the "detail" pic, i think he is using his knee to push up on the guy's stomach for more leverage to roll him. And this is a pretty cool set up, will try it out. Competing anytime soon chechen?

Thanks chechen, I kinda got it tonight. He kept shuffling to the side, so I put my weight down, squeezed my elbows together and pulled him in, then pushed. Got him over and you really do have to work that arm in.

Yeah I did, I'm currently out of it right now since I had shoulder surgery recently. I've been trying to just work technique, but it's hard to find someone who'll just let me use them as a training dummy.
