We have a car meet at the local drag strip here in a few weeks and I am going to take the bike down aswell to make a few passes. I love the twisites, but I have never taken it to the strip and want to see what it will do. I had a few questions after searching the nhra site as to what gear would be sufficient. I was planning on taking just the textile jacket, helmet and gloves. Does anyone know if textile works for nhra standards or will i need to take the leather?

Anyone have any other advice when taking the bike to the strip?

Dunno if it matters but its a 99 f4

Best bet is to call the track and ask them. Every track has slightly different rules.

Other advice: Get some straps and ride the fuck out of it. Get your weight as far forward over the tank as you can, slip the clutch out of the box aroun 6-8k, once into second get tucked behind the screen and bang through the gears.

    Don't heat up your clutch.

Burn out in 2nd or 3rd.

No need to do a burnout on a stock length 600.

You won't be able to come off the line hard enough to spin the tire, you will wheelie long before then, with all the sticky shit they put on the track.

    What track?

The one in Valdosta would let a riding lawn mower down their track and not say a word
