You guys with trusts have to engrave the entire name of the trust on the item from now on. No abbreviations.

    Heads up.

    Well, shit.

This thread just made me realize that my Form 1 is going to come back rejected because I did not put what was engraved on my lower in the 'other data appearing on firearm' box.

 luckily i have a pretty uncommon last name so i could get away with "Lastname Trust"

There's no 'uniqueness clause' when it comes to trust.

We could ALL have 'A Trust' if we wanted.

Are there requirements for the way a trust must be named?

I don't think so - I know of a LOT of stupid ones

like for instance, the Laquita and Otis Washington Trust (I am not kidding)

think about it - there's no committee or anything that approves your trust

once you transfer property into the ownership of the trust, it becomes a legal person

if my declaration of trust said the FUCK YOOOOOUUUUUUU Trust

    that would be fine

I was under the impression that some issues might arise if two identically named trusts were both used to transfer NFA items.

    perhaps

I'm not really sure. I have had a trust for a long time but it just now has NFA goods.

People are already posting that have called the NFA branch to verify. The entire trust name must be engraved.

The correction form sent back (the one I had posted) was sent because the guy used "J. Doe Trust"

People are saying to just leave 4h blank as they're still being approved, but either way you still have to engrave the entire trust name.

    Mine has been:
    "First Initial Last Name RLT
    City, State"

The next receiver I engrave is going to be long as fuck.

this is why I didn't go the trust route. easier to just get a CLEO signoff. Or move

I'm still using initials and RLT for mine. I'm also putting "Zombies" in the "reason" box.
