Does OEM hardware like cd\dvd burners come with jumpers, cables and software?

Usually the jumper since you have to select one of three+ choices. But nothing else unless a driver is required (which is rare as well)

My OEM CD Burner came with software and a cable IIRC.

Oh yeah, maybe an audio cable, but not an IDE cable. Must not be true OEM if you're getting bundled software though.

Newegg usually throws in a copy of nero and an IDE/audio cable.

I don't remember whether it came with an IDE cable or not... The software it came with was some crappy OEM no-name software, probably something that the place I bought it throws in with every CD drive or something.

When I bought my NEC DVD writer OEM, it came with nothing except the drive and a jumper -- no cables, no software...not even a box for the drive. There's something techie about getting your parts shipped wrapped in bubble wrap, rather than glossy photographic cardboard. ;)
