Do I need a pre amp to drive an amp for my home theater? Right now I just want my setup louder.

Whats a good budget 100 watt 2 channel amp? used is good. price under $100 or so?

You dont necessarily need a preamp to drive your amplifier, but it makes things easier, such as getting a volume control (assuming your amplifier doesnt have one).

We hooked my QSC RMX 1450 straight up to one of my friends dvd players, and it worked fine, but you would have to adjust the volume on the channels individually, and that was a pain.

What exactly are you trying to do? Do you already have a 5.1 reciever, and just want a new amp to drive the mains?

Ok, when you say cheap amp, do you mean amplifier, or reciever?
