I just purchased a really clean 72 Standard Bug, and was just curious if there was anyone else in here that might be willing to impart any knowledge...like:

    Good Performance Websites
Bug Shops in the So. Cal area (I've seen quite a few but I'm looking for some really good ones)
Any other tips you might be willing to give!

    Thanks

well, here are some pointer to get you going. If your building a motor up, prices are the same pretty much between a small cc high rever and a big cc low rev. But the hp is at the big cc, low rev motor. turbo kits are pretty cheap for a beginer setup (www.turbocity.com), but as you want to turn the wick up, price goes up w/ it.

    here are a few links.

    www.cal-look.com

from those two sites, you should be able to find a wealth of other info.

    I've had a few aircooled.

I highly recommend grabbing a VW Trends or Hot VW's magazine. They have a shitload of advertisments.. I highly recommend SoCal, they are great to deal with and have some really good prices!
