I have a 1.3ghz AMD Athlon CPU right now with 768mb RAM. I'm looking to changing the entire mother board, CPU and adding more ram in the near future. I have a lot of files in my HD that are very important... Oh and I have a lot of porn I want to keep also.

My question is if I change motherboards and add on a more powerful processor, will my HD recognize the new processors or will I have to reformat my entire HD and reinstall windows again?

well, your in luck with windows, because it won't let you boot right away. it will bluescreen. you'll need to boot to the windows cd, then try to do an installation, but it will find your system, tell it to repair it, it will then go through the installation, but most likely you won't lose anything.
it it were me though, i would transfer all my important files a.k.a porn to another hard drive, then just reformat the system hard drive, a fresh install is always better than one that has be repaired

Or tell Windows to delete the Windows directory and install a new one.
