First off,This is the cheapest $300 rack system you can buy.Free shipping.
I ordered this Monday night. Then before I got out of bed Tuesday,
I had Fedex tracking numbers in an Email.:coolugh:
Delivered Thursday from New York state to Chicago:bowdown:

Really easy to put together, all the parts were there.Nice I like it.
You really need to counterweight it for doing dips or pull-ups though:mamoru:

Its a good rack, but it has a few downfalls.

The base is not wide enough for me to pull summo out of the box, I modified mine.

1" rack spacing would have been better.

Paint quality was sub par on mine, and I had to return one piece

    otherwise it has been good.

I had the one with he lat pull attachment, and one of the pieces, a carbeaner broke on mine. not a huge issues, also after about two years the cable is a little worn, IE the protective plastic is coming off.

I have that one, for $300 you can not beat it.

If you are worried about balance or plan on using bands you should bolt it into the concrete.

nice. IIRC this will be your first time learning to squat and deadlift and all that... Definitely get some mirrors and/or a video camera for the room so you can evaluate your lift. People tend to lean towards video but I think mirrors are fine, also practice with broomsticks or just the bar. I tried to learn how to full squat with weight on the bar and my form ended up sucking for a couple months and my squat actually got weaker.

Thanks,I've been broomsticking now empty bar squating.I think my form is good. The Rippetoe Starting Strength training "theory" is
what I'm following.A couple of huge mirrors will finish this.

can you buy plain squat stands from NYbarbell? I think if i'd rather just have a stand than a rack :o

While I like stands, if you're alone, and work out at home, a rack will definitely be more flexible.

yeah, but when lifting with others, stands are gonna be a better tool, allows multiple people to squat with the same bar comfortably.

true, for most practical purposes a rack would be better. i was thinking a stand would be cheaper tho

I bought their sumo squat rack off of craigslist used for a very good price about a year and a half ago. No problems squatting wide in that thing...while 1" spacing would have been better I have no issues with the 2" spacing for benching and squatting.

If not for the cheap price I would have probably bought the newyorkbb cage that the OP picked up.
