I've been going to this gym for about 4 months now, and I like it because its a huge facility, and its almost never crowded. so i wasn't looking forward to the new year, expecting an enormous spike in the crowd level, as always. Anyways, that's what happened, first week of new years, a ton of people looking to get in shape, only thing is that they didn't even last for more than two weeks.

    :wiggle:

I couldn't believe it. Usually, at other places, the crowd dies down around spring break, but even this early, the place is empty again. WTFfatties

It pains me to see the new years people come in. They never do any hard work and expect huge gains. When they are on the tread mill they walk, doing 1/4 dumbell squats with 35 pounds, and 1/4 crunches (pretty much a 1/12 situp).

I've been going a bit later now to avoid a fucking packed parking lot. It's normally crowded early but I think it was last week or two weeks ago and the cardio area was PACKED with cows.

    Yikes!

I noticed this last night too- I actually got an elliptical after work without waiting. It's good, I'm glad it's back to normal, but kinda sad too how people can't stick with resolutions.

last night seemed like the first busy night in a while.

even after new years it wasn't crazy, but i walk into the gym at "rush hour" ~7PM last night and all 10 flat/incline BB benches were being used.

then on the DB floor, all 4 adjustable benches were being used & all the weights were scattered on the floor. looked like a lot of college students.

    supreme ghey

It might be painful, but they're helping keep gym membership rates down for the rest of us that actually go to the gym more than 3-4 times. :coold:

Yep, that's how I'm trying to look at it lately. Those extra memberships that end up paying all year and never going= less payments for me and maybe new equipment at some point.

the 24hr fitness i go to is fucking overloaded big time still. i couldn't believe how many people were there this weekend since we had an ice storm and usually the place is a graveyard when it rains or snows or especially ice. but the heards came in anyway and sat on the equipment wasting bunches of time with their 10 minute rest periods that of course must be taken while holding onto whatever machine or bench etc they are using, my favorite was a woman with her fitness magazine that had at least 12 or more dumbells around the flat bench and was going thru checking off diff excersizes and picking thru the weights etc, hillarious since there was so many other woman wanting to use those same light weights and were probably too shy to just take those fuckers lol. oh i love it, it's like getting a comedy show for free while lifting, i'll miss the new years crowd even though they do annoy at times
