This came from the main forum topic. http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=3363077 but it's a cluster fuck and I can't get any straight answers even after reading all 9 pages.

I too will be starting a new schedule once school starts next week. Usually I go to the gym at 3-4pm finish with cardio and am done by 5-6 pm. But now with school and a new job what is the best?

The main question I have is it more efficient to work out in the morning or evening? Lifting am or pm? cardio am or pm? or both am or pm? Cause it already looks like I'm gonna have to split up my routine.

everybody is different. some people can find they lift great in the morning. I, am not one of those people. I can barely function in the AM

I used to do cardio a few mornings a week, but changed jobs and now I do everything after work

The other thing to consider is that to lift in the AM, you have to wake up early enough to let your preworkout protein/carbs get digested, especially if you're lifting to gain mass or stength

    money

Stims + cardio wakes me up pretty good.

Lifting in the PM means I've got plenty of food in me to keep me energized through the workout.

just get in the gym and lift... the more you think about it and try to decide one way or the other, the less time you actually spend in the gym

    go when you can

it's just i don't wanna lift too hard before school and pass out in class. But I wouldn't mind doing it if in turn it is more effective, i'll just pop an energy pill. Then they were saying cardio is good in the morning keeps you up for the rest of the day and lifting in the pm will get you good for the night.

That's why I like not having a job or in school, i lift at the prime time of 3pm.

Question though, if you to were to do it in the morning, when would you eat?

Would you eat a whole breakfast before the workout and something light after/ eat something light and then more after/ or nothing before and eat after?

I lift in the morning. I don't eat anything beforehand. I still have not spontaneously combusted. A miracle, I know.
