Yep thats a sub enclosure with the port going up thru the rear deck into the car...and no sadly this isnt a photochop. According to his "tests" that configuration sounded the best

Other than the fact that it looks terrible, it should work fine.

I had to something simular to that, not the big pipe, but I had to cut new holes in my rear deck so that the subs would push sound through the wholes into the car. My reason for it was that a lot of mercedes have the gas tank RIGHT behind the rear seat, so theres no way sound can travel from the trunk to the car, so I put holes in the first aid kit thats on my rear deck, maybe I should try some pipe!

Ugh.. I didn't notice the holes on the side of the port. What's the fucking point? I can't believe somebody would put something so horrendous looking in their car.

Yep! I've heard a couple of similar setups and they sounded great.

edit - did not see the holes drilled in the port :ugh:

however, if the trunk is well insulated, you will probably get peaking around the enclosure tuning, which would make it sound wierd. If the trunk is well sealed, it would make the design esentially a 4th order bandpass.
