Walther P22 and Gemtech Outback II :wiggle: 20 days from mailbox to approval on the suppressor  I put 250 rounds through them yesterday with zero failures, and only the first 10 rounds through the p22 were unsuppressed.

So what's required to get a suppressor?

Find a dealer that sells them, purchase one, get the Form 4's completed, get fingerprinted, get 2 passport size photos, send all in to the ATF with a check for $200 and wait. The hardest part of the process is getting a signature from a chief law enforcement officer in your area, mine was easy but some people have a difficult time with it. All their signature does is say that you having it will not in their knowledge be a violation of state or local law, but some treat it like they are giving you permission to own it. There are a couple ways around even having to get their signature if they won't sign as long as they are legal to own where you are, but for someone just wanting one or two NFA items the way I discussed is the easiest.

    Thank you, sir.

How much did your suppressor cost, if you don't mind me asking?

The laws vary by state, in Il they are illegal. In places where they are legal you just submit to a background check and pay a $200 "tax" and then you are good to go. I explained the process in more detail in one of my earlier posts in this thread.

    Are you a business?

20 Days seems quick for an individual.

Very much so. 20 days is quicker than I got my carry permit back in GA. My Form 4 came back fairly quickly. Somewhere between 30 and 40 days maybe.

Nope it was an individual transfer, the form 3 from Gemtech to my dealer took longer than that too lol.
