 one question. i know i'm gonna sound like an ignorant noob asking, but wtf is that bar thingy the light is mounted to and how much did it cost? what are it's advantages vs buying a gun with a picatinny rail?

it is an AFB alternative force block made by gg&g. so the gun cannot be knocked out of battery. usually run about 400 bucks and take up to 3 weeks to make. if you just buy a gun with a rail it can still be knocked out of battery in a close quarters fight. plus if you see the spike front end you can hold someone at gunpoint and move them around with out fear of the slide getting pushed back

first off i don't pay that much but thats besides the point, thats how much they charge though i am pretty sure. those ones on the website you posted are crap compared to the workmanship of the gg&g one. probably made out of aluminum and they way they are mounted is no where 1/4 as strong as the gg&g unit. pretty much you get what you pay for i would never disgrace my gun with that urban advantage crap. so don't try and compare apples to oranges. i guess a mercedes and a kia are the same to because it has 4 tires and and an engine?

:) I would just buy a railed frame from Caspian, Springfield or Kimber for less than 400 and not worry about having an extra piece on the front.

When you have to strike someone with the pistol, you have either emptied a mag or had a jam which has allowed the aggressor to get close enough. Either way it won't matter if the gun was out of battery. You strike to get the assailant off of you, then retreat to reload or clear. If you have your pistol out against an aggressor then you are ready to shoot that person to death, not beat him.

That is a sweet setup that you have though. I was thinking of a surefire for mine.

Not trying to sound too hardcore...

Use palm of weak hand to punch the person's nose and then fire point blank from the hoister...

Forget about knocking someone out with your gun.

i had a kahr and i don't know if it was a fluke but that was the worst gun i have ever owned, i would never recomend there guns to anyone. Why people keep talking about people beating people with there gun is irrelivant if you are thinking that is what the afb is for, it is for holding people at gunpoint point blank with no worries of the gun being pushed out of battery, yes you can beat people with it also but that is not it's primary function

holding people at gunpoint? trying not to laugh. but if it's their selling point and they are getting 400 bucks for it, more power to them.

Let me put it this way, having the barrel of the gun up against someone's body is a great way to be disarmed by someone who knows their shit.

it is leaned more towards special forces and such not joe public. obvisouly if you don't know the gg&g name then you are a little out of the loop when it comes to there products

Vermincelli, then you know they wouldn't build anything for "beating someone over the head"
