I have never designed a website before. What is a good plate to go to learn everything I need to know the easy way?

Here is some advice from me (designer/www.stylst.com)

Start small. It is really really hard to jump into making websites when you don't have basic knowledge of photoshop and all of the tools to go along with it + design knowledge. When I started I used www.good-tutorials.com and made small things like backgrounds, logos, banners etc. Making stupid shit like this taught me everything about photoshop because the tutorials cover so many different topics and areas.

I learned most, if not all of my Photoshop skills from designsbymark.com. Now, he charges people for tutorials when they used to be free. But if they were as good as they were when they were free, then I would suggest investing in it.

When you get to the other side of web design, check out www.w3schools.com. It'll kick start you in the right direction as far as HTML and CSS goes.

Photoshop lab is the only one I knew he made (was still getting referrers from it YEARS later last time I checked). No clue he had done much more.
