Well, after working out off and on with my soloflex :)greddy: ) over the last couple years, I decided that it is time for a real gym and signed up at Gold's Gym. Squats and dead lifts don't work so well with either dumbbells or rubber bands, not to mention I like lifting real weights more. I have been doing that modified Bill Stars Routine/Christopher’s routine for about a month and that is what made me out grow the Soloflex.

Is there any gym etiquette that I should be aware of? I searched and searched but didn't find much. I know about the towel stuff to wipe off the equipment when I am done, so I'll do that. How about keeping track of what you lift for the 5x5 stuff? Do you have a small notebook you take with? Any advice would be helpful so I don't get delt smashed by some brolies.

    Thanks.

I have a little notebook I got for work that I might use. I have no idea what I am even going to be able to lift, so I need to at least keep track of that.

Don't let the name "squat rack" confuse you. You can do all your excersizes in it if you want.

:werd: Nothing like doing squats, deadlifts, bench press (bring in a bench from the freeweight db area) and curls.

make sure theirs enough room between you and other people. you would not beleive how mad an asian runner gets when you drop a 65 lb DB on his foot.

He's asian, just distract him with a math problem. Something like: "Calculate the speed of the dumbbell based on the height it was dropped from and how much your foot hurts."

It's always good to superset with 4 different exercises over the course of 20 minutes when the gym is busy.

Re-rack your weights and don't be afraid to ask to work in, but typically only on nautilus or db-based benches...
