here's my dilemma. I currently have a 1997 ford ranger great truck but i want to upgrade, i was going to get a 1999 F150, super cab with stepside that has like 88k on it. the truck would be my DD. but while browsing craigslist, i found a 85 grand national with 96k on the clock for $7k. and then while browsing more i found a 68 mustang for $4k, not too many details on it. the cars would sit in the garage along with my 5.0 here's some pics to help with my decision....
truck...(dont worry the spoiler would come off ASAP!)

Well what do you want it for?
For a DD I'd say the truck, though IMO a truck like that JUST to tool around town is a waste.......

The other two, especially the Mustang, are project cars, good shape or not.
What remains to be seen is how much of a project car they are....

If I was buying one, I'd take the GN though. Assuming no real rust and a decent engine.
    Personal preference.

I've got a 68 Coupe and I've owned a bunch of Mustangs so I'm partial, but I have to vote for the truck.

You'll always be able to find old school Mustangs for cheap. 4K isn't exactly a once in a lifetime deal. Also it's a girly color with gay wheels so it might be a six cylinder.

I appreciate GNs for what they are, and I love seeing them, but the body style just screams redneck.

The truck should still have tens of thousands of reliable miles left, and it looks clean for 88K. Neither of the other two would be a reasonable DD, and if your DD'ing the truck you can go crazy on your 5.0 and really have a fun/cheap/easy project.

why do you see it as a waste? the 4x4 will be nice if we get a lot of snow this year and i will be driving it every day 20 miles to work (kinda nervous about that but it shouldn't be too bad, my dad gets 17 in his, which has a v8, and i'm getting 18 in my v6 ranger.

yeah, i wouldn't plan on dding either of the two besides the truck. that's what i'm doing right now, dding my ranger and driving the mustang occasionally when it's nice out. the truck has a dent on the drivers side rear door from a shopping cart but i'm pretty sure i can get it out if i pull the inside pannel out. also, i'm sure i could EASILY put another 100k on that truck without anything major going wrong with it.

I wouldn't touch a GN with 96K miles on it.

i found more interior pictures and there is a monster tach down by the shifter and then an A pillar guage. i like my fiveslow anyways, i think the truck wins this battle.

To me someone driving a vehicle that big just to commute to work is a waste.
I'm not jumping on you, I believe in personal choice, that's just mine.
Since I don't need a big truck, I have a small one to haul stuff around and drive around in as a beater.

The 4WD is nice for snow though, can't argue with that.

i like being able to put stuff in the back. i've also been getting into dirtbiking more lately so putting the bike in the back is always a good thing. i just hope this bed is a little longer than my ranger's so i can close the tailgate.
