Been with PCs from childhood - but want to learn Mac Platform.

I could save up and probably afford a Macbook at the end of the summer - or I could buy a used one now. I really do not need anything too powerful - just a haul to class and learn the OS/Apps on laptop.

Recommendations? I have no intentions on doing intense animation - but I do want to play with some of Apples web design apps - nothing too intense im sure.

    Suggestions?

    Current platform - Sager 3790 Intel Centrino (1.0) 2.0 Ghz - 768 Ram - 60 Gig 7200 RPM HD - 15.4 UXGA screen 128 MB ATI radeon mobility 9700 - 7+ lbs - want something a bit smaller for class purposes.

How common is the 'overheat' issue?

Apple refurbs are generally high quality and pretty much new .. haven't heard any horror stories there.

macbook = win, if you ever decide that windoze is for you instead of OS X :wtf: you could still do it on the mac hardware if you got an MB / MBP
