    Hey all,

I've got a plain ole 10/22 right now, and I'm thinking about upgrading some parts of it. I use it for hunting mostly, and in some pretty rough terrain. As such, I need two things from my gun: accuracy, and low weight. Given that, what would you guys recommend? I'm thinking that the barrel from Tactical Solutions (http://www.tacticalsol.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=25) would be a good place to start, because its extremely lightweight (8 oz!) and only slightly longer than the stock barrel.

A folding/lightweight stock seems like a good idea too, but I'm not really sure which one to use. I'm a little uneasy picking them out because it'll obviously have to fit with the TacSol barrel and they don't have the barrel's diameter listed on their website.

After the stock and barrel upgrade, is there anything else I could do to improve the accuracy? It would be fun to get a suppressor for it too, and it would be practical - squirrels are very sensitive to noise, and since that's primarily what I hunt with the 10/22 a can could actually provide some real benefit. How much does it reduce range/accuracy?

Speaking of silencers, does anybody know a good site I can go to check out local gun laws regarding their purchase/use?

    Thanks brohams.

I wanted the same things from my 10/22 that you want from yours... light, accurate, and short / easy to carry. Ended up going with the VQ CF barrel which does cost a little more but is the next step up in accuracy. Also added a VQ hammer, hogue stock, and WK buffer. And that's it. The cheapass Simmons will get replaced eventually but for the time being it does its job.

The target is 10 rounds in a 1" dot at 50 yards. The flier was completely my fault. That was the first day I took the new barrel to the range. It's tighter now.

Most of my shooting will be done kneeling or offhand, which means a bipod wouldn't be useful. You don't get prone very often hunting squirrels. :)

Yeah, the Tactical Solutions barrels are threaded. (.5x28). Broke has the screw on Tactical Solutions compensator on his.

I am currently building up a 10/22. Parts are on order.

Everything I own is put together from a practical standpoint. Post a target that beats mine, then talk shit :)
