Some of you may remember me asking about which 15" to go with but I've scrapped that idea and here's my new setup!

    Eclipse cd5444
Image Dynamics Chameleons CXS62 (front stage)
12" Image Dynamics Max v.3 (slot ported enclosure)
    JL Audio 300/2
    JL Audio 500/1

All going into my eg hatch. Cant wait!

Yes, the HU is awesome. Im afraid someones going to break in my car now. :noes:

I dont know why Eclipse doesnt make detachable face HU's along with their ESN security feature.

They don't believe in the extra breaks in the connections (the less connections in a circuit the better), and I think it also makes the faceplate feel more solid to the touch than units with detachable faceplates. In addition, it frees up more room internally (by a small margin), because they don't have to deal with the extra mechanism that forces the face plate to use more depth. You'll notice that Eclipse units generally sit more flush with the dash than other models. Also, any thief that knows about ESN, knows the deck is worthless if they steal it. Not to mention you have a year-long protection against theft (any other mftr. do that?).

sony(not the walmart crap) used to replace stolen decks with a police report and your receipt, but it's been a few years since we sold both sony and equits so i would not know if sony still offered it.
