Hi there, I know i usually hate reading requests for cases and parts etc - but its been about 4 years since I have purchased a computer case. I have become quite picky in my decisions and have fallen in love with Antec cases (quality/build/stability/size). I have owned several SOHO series cases from them and a few of the smaller ones (sonata, etc).

My new computer will be large, I want/need a lot of room as usual. I am a little tired of the antec design though. I ventured over to their site to see if they had anything new and I came across the p180 - it looks beautiful.

Ok, so, peronally, I want something that is not flashy - I dont do the UV lights, i dont want a bubbly case with windows and with a lot of plastic design features. I want a simple square case - the most beautiful cases to me are still the circa 1998 Dell Dimension cases - they were tall - beige, rectangular and square corners - I would love to use one of those but the market seems to be flooded with all of these bubbly, colorful boxes.

Anyway, just thought i'd ask around here for any suggestions cause I dont really know where else to look beside antec.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

its got some great cooling elements plus a separate chamber design to keep the powersupply heat away from the motherboard and components. The case sides are aluminum/plastic/aluminum to minimize noise and it has a video card cooling fan optional...

just from looking at it, I think I might purchase this one afterall - its about 150 online without a powersupply - kind of expensive considering i'll probably drop 100 on a power supply too.. oh well.

Im definitely still open to suggestions

The P180 is a beatiful case, simple, sophisticated and it's Antec. :bigthumb: I'd recommend the Sonata but it's not the biggest of cases, and it has 2 tiny UV lights. But you can turn those off if you wish.

My vote goes for a Lian Li PC-V1000. It isn't much more expensive than the 180, and i can garauntee its a lot better built. And not to mention so cramped as the P180.

I want the limited black version of that case. I have the 1080b and it's fucking huge (obviously since it's a soho server case), but I love the build quality

thats a cool looking case, but i cant justify paying anywhere near that much for a case.

My Super Lanboy was a POS. I won't buy another antec cause. It was soo flimsy and poorly built.

i'd buy that if i was looking to rebuild. when i do rebuild (maybe xmas) i'm going to think of that one.

and i def. hear you on the style. i fucking hate those ricer comptuer cases. my roomate went from a POS hp last year and upgraded to a pretty nice machine. but he bought one of those ricer cases and had so much fucking blue that you COULDN"T turn off. fucker kept me up at night.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, Im gonna look in to the Lian Li's - Ive heard about them before. Like I said, I need a lot of room, I have had several antec soho cases and I have loved every single one of them - I wish they were a little bit lighter - but hey, sall good - I dont move it much.

Yea, that P180 looks pretty sweet. Check out the forums at www.silentpcreview.com for lots of dicussion on it. The editor there actually consulted on the design of it :coold: Couple it w/ a Seasonic S12 powersupply and you would have a base for a very quiet system. Last I looked, there were some worries about power wires not reaching everything in the case :hs:
