New study on effects of fasted cardio (specifically biking)

    Might help reinforce some of what you guys are doing. It's a 2-sided argument, but new studies are always a good refresher. There are other implications besides power-to-weight ratio if you want to read more closely.

    so either fasted light cardio in the am, or HIIT at any time after eating?

    to those of you that do fasted cardio- do you feel light headed at all from not eating?

    I did 20 mins of 30/60 second intervals on my trainer this morning and felt good. energy for the day has been up also.

    it doesn't indicate more anything

    just that there was no loss in muscle tissue, which is what many people cite as a reason for not doing fasted cardio

    I do 40 mins of "fasted" cardio in morning, with the exception of drinking about 1/2 to 1 scoop of ON whey and having a cup or 2 of brewed green tea no sugar. Feels good man.

    When I do am cardio I chug some BCAA's. It seems like a good idea to get something in the system and it forces me to drink a lot of water. Considering it's not absorbed and processed immediatly I'd say it still counts as faster cardio.

    how about lifting on 1st thing in the morning, with only having 1-2 scoops of whey pre-workout.

    then 2 scoops of whey and carbs post-workout

    then 30-40 mins of cardio? is any of that a bad idea?

    i usualy down a 1l of water, then a cup of fresh coffee, doing cardio when you have no digestion going on , i think i do better on fasted cardio
