Picked up an 870 Wingmaster today at the local gun show. 2 3/4" receiver with the 30" target barrel and a super full trap removable choke. Got it for $400 and it looks very new. The wood is perfect only a little blueing missing from the magazine tube. Gonna shoot some skeet tomorrow morning.

Picked up one just like it a while back. Kind of an impulse buy and haven't shot it yet. I recall I did have to take the barrel off to fit it in the safe :).

I got a 30" wingmaster just like that (once upon a time). It's kind of beat up from years of use.

The target barrel is overbored to .745 instead of the standard .727 dia. It would be considered a "full" choke in standard dia.

    Holy giant barrel.

I guess it's fine for skeet/trap, but I'd hate to carry that giant thing through the woods.

30" is good for trap, and birds. I'd say it's kinda long for skeet and really long for sporting clays.

Like I said, for skeet, 30" is too long. Have fun on the last stand.

I see, all the local places are trap only so I mostly shoot trap. They're only open during the week though. I'm driving about an hr cause I wanna shoot this gun bad haha.

I like the simple maintenance of a pump. I was really going for an O/U but couldn't afford it.

Meh as long as it aint a self defense gun or hunting weapon I dont see where matiance should be a factor. If im getting a gun for a sport its going to be designed for that sport

I mean the 935 shoots some of the tightest groups ever, and its also 3.5" and overbored to 10ga specs.

Whats the disadvantage of a long barrel in skeet and sporing clays? I did notice I did alot better with my dads gun at sporting clays than with trap. Its some old 20ga SxS with 24"-26" barrels.

Shooting multiple clays in trap isn't too bad with a pump, but it's friggin' tough in skeet & SC. :o

ah ok. but what I was really saying is that I thought it was a little much for trap. I and many others rock improved modified or maybe even modified. full seems too constricting, although I've never tried it. I bet those clays fuckin explode when you get a hit.
