So what is the weapon from the commercials that projects a lightning bolt and then bends the metal plate outwards and heats it up red hot?

    I'm not sure it is a .50.

I believe it is the 20mm from South Africa called the NTW-20.

    It is impossibly bad-assed.

:squint: Ok, so I was wrong.

If a Barrett costs 8k, I couldn't imagine what that AS-50 would cost.

I just got done watching it. It was badass. They had a semi-automatic .50 cal sniper rifle. They did awesome demonstrations of it going through concrete and smashing some melons. They then switched to armor piercing rounds that went through two layers of tank armor. :eek4: The rifle was accurate up to 1.2 miles within a 30" grouping. :big grin:

They also had a bunch of other cool stuff as well.

    :werd:

    newbs :ugh2:

and barrett is not at all best quality, they are best "name" 50 cal out thre, mcmillan bros and a few others make much higher quality rigs, in fact the barrett is considered to be rather cheaply made compared to most 50 cals

this is not including the dumb serbus and ar conversion kits, those are just toys and not even worth mentioning

    the AS-50 looks bulky.
I'd rather get a Cheytac or a McBros .50 and use the money on optics and ammo.

Its clearly an automatic sniper rifle that can bring an entire base power plant to its knees :run:
