I am looking at picking up a sport bike in June/July and need some advice. I read the thread about what to do before posting. As for the safety course, i will be taking the Air Force mandated safety course so i am assuming that is a similar course. I am looking for a "daily driver" per say but something i can have fun on too. I don't want a super big bike because i would like to stay alive. I was looking at the 250cc but i think that might be a little smaller than i want so i was thinking about going with the 500cc. I have riden bikes before but never owned. I am also looking for used as opposed to new. any advice is appreciated.

    A few lower-mid-range options..

Yeah, fuck you and your bikes that we can't buy here.

The only ones on that list that we get are the GS600 and SV650.

    Serious? :eek4:

    Sux to be you guys.

You get bikes a shit-tonne cheaper than us though.. plus you don't have power/weight restrictions for the first 1.5yrs of riding :o

I'm on a GS500 until September.. then I can get a real bike.

Dunno if you get these or not, but more in the mid-range.. they're 600s but they're not super-sports so better for commuting:

    Suzuki Bandit 600

    Yamaha FZS600 "Fazer"

    Honda "Bros" NT 400

We get the B6, although maybe just the B6S - same basic bike anyway

We get the FZ6 which looks pretty similar to that

We got the NT650 (back in what... 88-91 or something?) but never the NT400

I'm also getting a bike in the next few months. I'm taking a MSF course right now actually. 1 day left. Lots of good info in here. I posted a topic in the main forum a few days ago asking for recommendations, it was pretty good.
