I talked to Tyler McDonald today, for those who don't know him he won a few CMRA championships last year and will be racing most if not all of the AMA schedule this year and did I mention he is 16. He is the son of former AMA champ Sam McDonald.

Basically today on a 65 degree day with the '06 in completely stock trim, well he added 2 clicks of compression damping in the rear to the stock set-up.

He went out and turned, on the stock tires with no damper with the '06 exactly as it came off the showroom floor, was running the same times as his fully race prepped '05.

The '05 is a race bike, Sharkskinz, geared, full Akra, tuned, Penske triple clicker and revavled forks with an Ohlins damper and Pilot Race tires.

He was running in the 24's today, his normal practice times on the '05 (was in the 19's at the last CMRA race in August). And his '06 is going to worked on a hell of alot more than the '05 since he will be racing AMA this year, instead of just CMRA with a few CCS events.

Just a small idea of how bad ass the new bike is. He said it turns like his GP 125 bike!!!!!

5 sec difference is not "running the same times as his fully race prepped '05".

Imagine if you took a 2006 R6 and turned it into a trackbike

    It'd be unstoppable

Yes, cause practice times have absolutely NO correlation between race times

    None at all

5 seconds is a huge difference on the track ... IMO he's not even close to his times if he's 5 seconds off pace

5 seconds is a HUGE difference at the track.

What does it matter what I ride?

Does it matter I have over 75,000 miles under my ass on two wheels?

    Again, you ride?

    I ride an '04 R6.

And like I said you guys all missed the point here, I said his practice times. On the '05 race bike vs stock '06. Whats really impressive is that he got the bone stock '06 to the 24's at Hallet on stock tires.

Go ahead and continue the hating, I don't really care. Just trying to throw out some info on the new R6.
