basically, as the title says, im about to start stretching my ears. i've been toying with the idea for a looooong time now and have decided to do it, but stay small to begin with to see if i like it, and also cos i have to kind of still have a bit of a "conservative" appearance....

    i just have one question:

my ears were never properly pierced with a needle, they were done with a gun and blunt stud, this was about 15 years ago, i let them close up and repierced them myself 10 years ago with similar studs. is this going to effect the stretching at all, or are they old enough that my ear tissues should be ok? im not going to be going really big, only up to 2-3 gauge for now i think....

That's a pretty damn big jump. Hopefully you don't blow your ear out

Most shops (in the US/Can) only carry even gauge jewellery (6-4-2-0, etc).

Your ears have had years to rest and heal up so you should be fine. Just remember to take your time and don't rush it.

So your ears are already stretched a bit? 16 is not what gauge studs are. They're more like 20 or 22.

You pretty much only hit odd numbers when its an organic jewelry. Very rare though.

maybe my ears were at about 18, the 16 gauge hoops i bought went in with no problem. it was a tad tight, but no pain/stinging or anything, i could barely feel them going through. i suppose its from having them pierced for years, changing earrings all the time, wearing heavy earrings and i tend to play with/tug on them alot :dunno:

ahh, ok, i see. don't worry, i will be taking my time, thanks! :wiggle:
