My new rifle. Don't laugh at my gear, I haven't been able to get out and roll around in the mud with it yet.

with 5.45 ammo at 11.5cents/round shipped. I bought about 12k and will buy more as funds allow. I've seen 8mm surplus go from $.08 a round to over $.35. I've got about 2k of 8mm that I'm sitting on. Might sell it to fund more 5.45.

Buy it cheap and stack it deep, friends!

Century actually has a pretty good deal going, ended up being $138 shipped for a can of 1080. Pics of how you mounted your light to the AK? And is the other one a WASR?

Bottom is a wasr2, yea. I heard that AIM (where i got it) had a LOT of problems with their WASR2s (~40% return rate). I had to return mine once and get it swapped out. The 2nd one is ugly and boringly reliable.

I have a surefire G2 on my AR with a bolt on picatinny rail on the handguards. Since I figured, what the hell, its an AK. I bought an LED 3 Watt flashlight from walmart and used Hoseclamps around the top handguard and around the light. Rock Solid, Ugly as Hell, and Totally Functional.
    Come get some!

To be clear on what ammo im getting... Either Bulgarian or Russian surplus, with corrosive primers. So if you get some of it. CLEAN YOUR RIFLE!

I dont know if anyone has posted about corrosive primers here before, but you can ruin a rifle by not cleaning it when you run corrosive ammo.

Nice. I have 6 cans of 5.45 sitting next to the safe and I don't even have a gun to shoot it with yet.

Took my Tantal out today for a little exercise, man I love that thing. Going to try it out at 300yards next week and see how it does with some nice German ammo. I leave the safety off on my AKs so I can visually check to see that the hammer is down.

Looks like you've got a really nice collection so far, welcome to WMD :wavey:

I get the dealer pamplets from S.O.G. and got the best price there... something like 445$ or so. everywhere else (Century primarily) has them for like 460 or something. I have a guy that does 20$ FFL transfers so with shipping i was in like 480 or so. you can get an 'atlantic firearms' one which is not built by Century for somewhere in the 5's. I'll probably just end up krylon'ing the damn thing. I dont cry over spraypainted firearms.

You'd have to call them to get that deal, its not on their website yet. I think the Tantal kits just recently came in and they are ramping up their sales of them. I got a REALLY low Century Serial number.

The Wasr2 was 300 from AIM. Century still has some.

Century is the MAIN importer and builder of ak's, especially the 'budget ones'. The other option is to get one built, but that costs more than I can afford. I find that budget ones just have a shittier finish, but mostly run like an AK should... ALL DAY LONG.

Just to clarify, thats a complete rifle for 445. I havent seen many kits. I think a lot of kits have dried up. I WISH I were about 5 years older, i would have bought up some Krink kits when they werent so damn expensive.

Yeah I gotcha. I meant it was a good price on a complete rifle. Tantal kits are going for ~$300 now, plus $85 for a receiver and you're pretty close to Century's price. Krink kits got too expensive for me, I wish I had of gotten a couple a few years back too.

fuckin ehh. only nice thing about the kits, i guess, is you can get it exactly how you want. but you have to trust the builder, so its not a hack job. I've seen some lovely homebuilt ak's.
