I originally had a transverse lobe piercing in my left earlobe, done with a 1/2" curved barbell. I wanted to replace it with a captive bead ring. Due to some complications, I decided to go with a orbital lobe instead.
My right ear has a transverse lobe done, I may add something soon to even things out a bit. Or I might remove my industrial (the horizontal one) from the left ear to make it look less "busy" (Not quite sure yet, but I'm leaning towards the latter) :hs:

the pics are a bit blurry :o

Looks awesome. I really like the double industrials you've got as well. Definitely given me something to think about with piercing my ears. You wouldn't know if you can get transverse lobes in already stretched lobes, would you?

Yes you can. You can get custom tunnels drilled so that the transverse jewellery goes through the tunnels.

    Orbital crew FTW!
I'm thinking of getting another orbital done. My right lobe though 6g one hole and a 10g on the other. I'd have to find a tapered ring though.
Segment rings look good through them.
What gauge is it done at?

My piercer also told me that it's actually sorta easier through tunnels because they keep it straight and support and don't let your ear bend side to side, so they heal quicker/easier.

Alright, thanks. Seems like it would hold my tunnels in better as well. ;)

Sorry to thread hijack RW, but I copied you and got an orbital. :big grin:

Quite uncomfortable on the way home in my motorbike helmet, though.

Did you have those lobes pierced before?
I asked my piercer and she said that its better to get the two holes done first seperatly, let them heal and then put orbitals in. Some shit about the curved bar interfering with healing. But I am impatient :o

    Fuck I really want orbitals.

How much did the ring cost?

I don't know about Wiggum, but I had no ear piercings aside from my lobes. The piercer didn't say anything about adversely affecting healing times, although the curved ring was quite uncomfortable coming from the back into the top hole.

My ring was part of the piercing cost, which was £25 (around $50 USD), which is fairly cheap in the UK.

I got my helix orbital done at the same time. He put the ring in right away. Its still healing.
I'm glad to see a couple others have joined me in the orbitals!
