Taken at tonight's Rolex 24 practice. I shot over 300 pictures in less than an hour, so I'm still sorting through them and seeing which ones turned out. Here's a couple to start. . .

Some of them are so crisp and clear, and others have a TON of noise...strange.

I have noise reduction turned off in favor of more detail. A little bit of noise here and there is the lesser of the two evils.

were you using a tripod for those night shots or just a steady hand.... exif is saying 1/20 shutter. If you are zooming then you must be using a tripod right?

That exif doesn't appear to be accurate. I as using 1/500 shutter. . . .

{edit} Ohhh, teh night shots. . Yeah, just a steady hand :) I've shot as slow as 1/10 handheld and had very good results.

Anyway, here's a 100% of one of the pics for your enjoyment.

    Click

Looks a little grainy at 100%, but when viewed at desktop size it looks just fine.

ISO 200 for the night shots. ISO 80 for the daytime.

AVOID ISO400 like the plague. Have a tripod at all times so you can avoid it. It's an all inclusive invitation for a pixel party of noise.

Also has a lot to do with the camera type as well.
