    Why? the 300 VRI is one of the most incredible lenses Nikon makes. There's not a single complaint about it. Why not spend the time developing something that more people will buy...

    yup. i want a 35 1.4 af-s and 85 1.4 af-s

    the 85 af-d doesn't quite cut it for sports

    I agree. They should work on other primes besides the 300. Get some nice primes like canon.

    I think it has to do with the Nikon mount being too small to accommodate the large rear element of 1.2 glass plus all the electrical contacts needed for autofocus.

    That sucks. A 85 1.2 on a D700 or D3s would be :naughty:

    My 50 1.2 without AF is pretty big.
