yea congrats to Nicky for the 2006 MotoGP Championship. His consistency has paid off this year. Baylis should also be mentioned as he took 1st place in Valencia after filling in for Giberneau last minute. Fitting end for the ducati machine as he was the first rider to unvail it at the start of motogp a few years ago and is able to close the chapter of it at Valencia.

Nicky Hayden didn't really win. He just didn't lose.

Rossi low sided and went to 19th place. Finished in 13th, but couldn't really reel Hayden in either.

yea, but hey, thats what happens. The pressure must have gotten to Rossi. Or, his bike broke, again. I think Hayden would have won out, all the Hondas were blocking Rossi anyway.

Rossi wasn't close enough to the pack to be blocked. He ended up in 13th because he passed McCoy who is riding the 800cc bike and several of the other riders crashed out.

Don't get me wrong though, I wanted to see Hayden & Rossi fight it out standing up. Watching the race after Rossi went into the gravel was so anti-climatic.
