I've heard rumors that they're releasing new Macbooks soon. Is this true?
I'm suddenly in the market for one.

I really want a MacBook, but this recent update just didn't do it for me. Maybe next time Apple, maybe next time.

I wanted a mac laptop, but after deciding that the screen res and intel gma graphics of the macbook suck bawls, I couldn't bring myself to spend all the cash on the macbook pro. Ended up with a gateway for half the cost. I figure i can buy a new one every year instead of one every two years like i was doing... In the end, i'm extremely pleased with it.

If I could put Leopard on a PC without it being a pain in the ass, that could be an option.

I have a gateway mt6841, and while it's decent as far as performance, the build quality is just fucking horrible...i guess that's what owning a thinkpad does to you :dunno:

    I  my z61t

thinkpads are sex when it comes to build quality. But considering my gateway cost me $700 brand-new, I could buy 2-3 gateways for the price of 1 thinkpad, too. So I'm okay with that.

The gateway is my personal machine.

    For work, I have a T61.

    :coold:

I actually got my z61 for $759 3 weeks ago, from lenovo, brand new

Factoring price into the equation, my gateway was a really good deal, i got it for $279 after rebates (they sent me 3 checks for double the amount the rebate was supposed to be, got $300 back instead of $50, then a $150 instant savings :eek4: ).

awsome on the rebates. I'm not a fan of the R or Z series. If I went thinkpad it would have to be the T.

now if we're talking z-series mainframe, well shit.

I have the X61 and it's great, but I'm too lazy to carry it around, hence the Mac thread :)

the Z, based on experience with all 3 (t,z,r) is smaller than the R and about the same size as a T, but not as sharply designed as the T. I'm happy with it, the titanium lid makes look kinda weird but I'm used to it. Either way, for the price I paid, I don't think I could've done much better
