I've heard bits and pieces of that, but haven't seen anything looking that official. If this is true, I'd love to buy the 13inch one, my C1D MBP is getting a big sluggish :o

I'll be so fucking pissed of they get rid of the pro. I'm waiting for this socalled event on October 15th that's rumored. If they do get rid of the pro then I'll probably have no reason at all to even buy a mac. :wtc:

huh? Seems to me if in the article they are just getting rid of the pro in name, you could still buy an equivalent computer, their just wouldn't be the separate pro line

it would make sense if they made the casing for the new macbook taper at the edges. look what theyve done with the macbook air, 3g iphone, and new nanos. it seems they are moving to the tapered edge right now

They'll probably taper the whole bottom too, so your macbook will perpetually rock when you set it on a flat surface.

I want a high end notebook and I was looking to Apple but if I can't buy something equivalent or better than what's there now then I'll probably just buy a windows machine.

Look at the screen capture.... they have something up there that that has a 17'' screen, a stand along graphics card and a faster processor than whats currently offered, and for far less money. So if this is indeed what will be coming out the only thing you'd be loosing is the ability to say yours is a "pro"

that's not a real screen capture, it's speculation.

but yes, the speculation is that they will just relabel the whole line and distinguish individual models by their features.

That's the worst reasoning for not buying a new MacBook because it does not have the word "Pro" in its name. :ugh:

When the fuck did I say it had to have the word "Pro" in it? Please point this out to me. I want a Macbook with the specs that are equivalent or better than what the Pro is now. If there still is an option for a 17 inch screen with better specs than what the current Pros have then yes I will get one. If not then I have no reason to get a Macbook.

If the MacBook looked like that, I would seriously consider buying one. I love the MBP look and and a small 13" laptop with that look seems appealing

agreed....however I do agree with what you said earlier about the edges being more like the macbook air, 3g, nanos. They'll be rounded as well, I figure.

I like the specs posted here. I like the fact that there is no longer an option for a combo drive. And the prices are very nice also.

Is it impossible to have a 13" laptop with a dedicated graphics card in it? :hsugh: Or just more expensive than it's worth

incorporating a dedicated graphics card into the 13" model would do more harm than good from a sales perspective.
