I know this isn't the Mac forum.

But damn they look sexy. Anyways, the unibody construction is nice. Is there a PC laptop that has a unibody design?

Maybe I should just get a macbook since it can run windows anyways...so expensive though.

they are actually a pretty good deal, try finding a similar laptop for less.

I'm tempted to get the 13 inch one. But I can't afford it :(
It would be cool to finally have a Mac but also be able to run windows on it.

Build me a laptop with the exact same specs and hardware for less. It's not possible.

    I just built a better spec'd Dell Studio 15 with 1920x1200 res, Blu ray reader, T9300 Intel CPU, 4GB DDR2-667 RAM, 320GB 5400RPM HD, 256MB Radeon 3450, Bluetooth, Wireless-N, 9 Cell battery for $1, 959...

It's possible. I'd say the MacBooks are a better value than the MacBook pros, price-for-specs wise. Although with Apple, you do get a fancy trackpad, OS X and a sexy laptop... I'd pay the extra for it :dunno:

I think I'm willing to pay extra for that all aluminum unibody. Plus, you get the flat panel screen with no bevels and edges. Looks sick. But I've always been anti mac....

But hell, I can just run windows on it. Win win. just pay for looks and form factor which I might do

MBP use DDR3, that video card is a lot weaker then the dual 9400M/9600GT combo. :squint: :fawk: ;)

Toss on the student (or student developer) discount, and it becomes well worth it.

:ugh:DDR3 is absolute shit unless you are overclocking.

Edit. a 9400M has no balls, adding another with no balls doesn't just give it performance.

I was at Fry's last night, and checked out the new MacBooks. They are sexy for sure. I scroll with my middle finger, and click with my index finger, so when I was trying out the new MB's, I found myself switching fingers, even though they don't have a "button". It took a minute, but I got the hang of it. The new multi-touch gestures are neat too.

The new unibody feels really sturdy. Looks like I'll be getting a 15" Pro though, as I rather have firewire. Can't wait for Christmas to come around.

They look nice, but I don't like to pay over $1000 for a laptop.

It is netbooks and $600 cheapos with Ubuntu for me.

I will dump my money into a performance desktop.

I think about doing this too... getting a Mac Pro instead of a new MBP 17 when they come out.

You have a trade off: performance/heat. Apple didn't want people whining about how hot their 9700M GTs got in their MBPs. Sager has a notebook with the 9800M and it throws off plenty of lap-scorching heat.

The old MacPro had it's fair share of heat issues, even with shitty integrated graphics.
