    Why do you need an express card slot?

    You honestly were waiting for an i5 in a 13"? Did you expect 1080p, blue ray and usb 3.0 all for under $1200? :rofl:

    The reason they left the c2d's in the 13 is because of the cost associated with the i3's not to mention the additional hardware changes it would need to fly.

    The fact that you were waiting for i5's in a 13 is laughable, sorry.

    Keep waiting? :dunno:

    Gotta be able to use my SATA card to connect a couple drives for backups, testing, and other stuff. FW800 doesn't cut it.

    I didn't expect Blu Ray or any other fancy shit, just a newer CPU. This will be my first Mac and I refuse to spend $1200 on a C2D based laptop. I'm willing to make the switch but not when I can get an pc laptop with much more impressive specs for ~$800.

    I don't think you understand the power requirements of what you're asking for. You might be able to get an i5 in a dell but you'll also be getting a rock with a weak battery.

    I'm impressed with the 13's spec bumps personally and have finally made the jump.

    If you're afraid to spend $1200 then a mbp is not the laptop for you brocohontos, sorry.

    Now would be a good time to buy a c2d mbp though :dunno:

    They're dual core, but have hyperthreading so they have 4 virtual cores.

    I bought a 15" a few months ago, seeing this lineup, I really don't feel that bad about it.

    no, i5/i7 arrandale are dual core w/ hyper threading (4 virtual cores)

    i'm tempted to get a 15" 2.66ghz i7 w/ matte high res :noes::noes:

    anyone have experience with 5400rpm vs 7200rpm drives? issues? noise/etc?

    thats cool if ur cool paying premium for technology that has been in those laptops for years... having dual graphics cards in those old mbps was practically pointless considering you have to manually switch them :rofl::rofl: most people didnt even bother

    im kinda bummed bout the express slot, i dont know why the fuck they think having an SD card slot is valuable to the majority of the public. i dont even use SD cards, the express slot would be a lot more usable

    I have no problem spending $1200 as long as I feel like I'm getting a decent deal. $1200 for something spec'd similar to my old T61 doesn't feel like that. I realize that there are a ton of differences etc etc but at the end of the day its a very expensive C2D laptop. IBmore Apple fanboy elitist comments.

    Placed my order today for a 15" i7 with hi res matte screen and 500GB 7200rpm HDD. Since this is my first mac (other than wifey's 2007 MB) i'm quite happy with the specs.
