I wanted to buy a pb, but since thier upgrading the ibooks, i'm hoping either one of two things happen. The ibook is pretty comparable to the pb right now, and if anything, it might just get even closer, and even tho i love the pb, i mite settle for an ibook. If not that, i'm hoping that the pb gets a little revision, or that the prices on the pb drop 100-200 dollors. I really want the pb, but if they make any revisions on the ibook in terms of ram, hd, processor speed, the ibook and pb are almost identical than!

Mini will probably have a larger, faster HD and upgraded videocard. I can't see them doing anything crazy because they have to keep it cheap.

Tho having an internal FW drive would be impressively quick.

FW? As in FireWire? How would putting the hard disk on a slower interface make it faster? ATA133 > FW400 or even FW800

What the mini needs is a faster spinning drive.

They did upgrade the mini and the ibook :eek5:

    http://www.apple.com

looks like there wasn't anything significant done to the processor though.

Just some added features teh PB has like the scrolling trackpad and the motion sensor.

This really makes me wonder what they are going to do in the next powerbook update, because now the ibooks have quite a lot of the new special features that the low end powerbooks have, and for ~300 less, they are going to buy the ibook.

just fyi inferno, if you think your ibook is slow, i would buy a gig of ram for your ibook with that $100. That should help a lot.

I have 512 mb on its way

That better be a big improvement, I just dont think my iBook needs 1.25 gigs of ram, thats .25 of a gig more then my desktop which I play games on, etc. I'll only be using my iBook for the basic shit, photoshop, browsing, IM, email, some dvds, that kinda stuff :hs:
