New laptop - Considering Dell XPS M1330, what competitors should I consider?

My old Pentium M 1.5Ghz Vaio is definately due for replacement. I've found that even though the laptop is slower I definately use it a lot more than my desktop these days just because of the convenience.

Looking at the Dell XPS M1330 with Core Duo T9300 (2.5GHz), 4gig or RAM, 320Gb HDD, internal audigy and the upgraded battery. I priced it up today at AU$2,365.

Compared this with the XPS M1730 and in all honesty it seems to cost double what the 1330 costs just for a better video card, another hard drive, and a bigger screen. Honestly I'd rather the smaller light weight laptop.

What would be some good competitior laptops to check out around the same price bracket that will perform as well? I'm not looking for anything with a huge screen, I prefer portable, and if I can I'd prefer to not get one of these stupid shiny screens end users love which show up every reflection around you. So far the IBM's seem more business oriented, while the VAIO costs a fair whack more for the same specced machine?

    Dan.

Sony and Dell are both utter shit. I would rather have a steaming pile of dog crap than a Dell or Sony.

Care to suggest something else then? Which would be the entire point of this thread?

Also I'll just put in here I'll never own an Asus laptop, fkn bad experiences with those peices of shit. Toshiba are fkn abysmal with their drivers, last time I had to set one up I had to find the drivers through a combination of the AU, US, EU and random driver sites.

I'd say go for the Dell.... I love my XPS M1210 and would love to upgrade to the 1330 if I could.
