What does everyone think of the Borrego? I have been checking it out lately, and really like its design, especially the front end. Its a pretty good value compared to a 4Runner-- only 27K. Thoughts?

It's a good bit less expensive than the Pathfinder (about 8K) -- that's what caught my eye.

not really. nissan dealers are making good deals on pathfinders. Should be abled to get a 2wd V6 pathfinder for $23k. 4x4 should be under $25k.

Yeah, the Kia warranty gives you some piece of mind-- it comes with a 10 year/ 100k mile warranty, which is nice.

That's interesting about the Pathfinder-- the website listed much higher prices, but I guess every dealer is different, and you can talk some down.

msrp is worthless. If you're shopping based on msrp then you don't know what you're doing and should not go to a dealer alone.

too expensive for a Korean car, IMO. They lose their value pretty quickly in general :hs:

It's not a crossover. If the vid is accurate, it's body-on-frame.

That's a surprisingly good looking SUV, feature-wise. It looks like Kia is following Hyundai's lead in demanding more respect for their brand. Good luck to 'em.

I've been thinking lately that maybe I should get a small pickup or light SUV as a second vehicle while the getting's easy. The Borrego isn't one of them, but it did remind me about my idea. If only I didn't live right next to a major metropolitan area, without anything big and heavy that needs carrying, then I might actually do it.

I've just seen it for the first time to day... Bloody good SUV for the money.

I gotta say Hyundai and Kia are really turning things around in the past 2 years and are currently building some bloody good cars, in good volumes too.

i sold them for a while. I know that doesn't mean shit to you. I hate 99.9% of sales people, too.

Honestly, my qualification is that I've bought several for myself, I know how to negotiate a good deal, I'm a hobbist that always has to know "how things work" and when my friends need vehicles, they all come to me.

In the end, I don't give a shit if you trust me or not. If you don't it's your loss. But don't spread misinformation to others. Screw up your own life -- not others'.

lol....many times potroast has some good insight into things. Unfortunately he positions it as a complete asshole and noone wants to listen to it. Everyone is still entitled to their opinions (whether they are right or not) and they only way to get respect if you want to have people listen to you is to respect them first. just my thoughts. keep the arguments running :)

When I was in Costa Rica nearly every car there was a Kia or a Hyundai, and they actually stood up to the country's complete lack of anything resembling a road. There's a moral in there somewhere...
