Friend got it on Thursday and we took it out today and shot 100 rounds through it. It would fail to feed when inserting a fresh magazine and racking the slide. It looked like the rim of the case was caught on the extractor. The front of the bullet was high on the feed ramp but the rear was caught on the bottom of the extractor. When this happened I had to clear the chamber and try loading it again. Also wouldnt go into battery at least once in every 5 shots (that's over 20 times in 100 rounds). What's wrong?

The rim catching on the extractor is a new problem to me, so no advice there.

In general though, Karhs come pretty tight from the factor, and IME take a couple hundred (~250ish) to break in correctly. The slide not going into battery can be a somewhat frequent occurance during this break in time, and in my experience generally tends to work itself out.

I'd try shooting another box or two of ammo through it, and see what transpires. I know that sounds kinda goofy, but I've owned several Kahrs and they have all been the same way about strange break-in issues. If the problems don't start resolving themselves, then I'd call up Kahr and see what's up.

If I remember correctly, Kahr won't even do anything until you shoot >200 or so rounds through the gun..

Yeah I know about the break in but my friend is kinda pissed about the cost of the pistol and how it's shooting.

Probably needs some break-in time and different ammunition.

We need to put more rounds through it.

It's a relatively common occurance with new firearms. It's accepted in the gun community to my knowledge.

How much btw? I bought my partner a Kahr K9 Elite 03. It's actually a very nice pistol.

$660 OTD. It has the black slide but no night sights.

Yeah fuck that, I'm not getting anything that has a "break in period" where it ftf or fte's. My Glock shoots perfect from round 1 to 100,001+

He did say he took it apart. I dont know if he detail stripped or field stripped. Is that the going price for his gun? It was local including tax.

Don't tell that to the Glock crowd. Better work the first time, every time.

Except it doesn't always work like that Einstein. Sometimes things need to break in. Works like that in cars too.
In fact, most things mechanical/metal need to break in first. Get over it.

Now it just happens to be, Glocks are usually really good out of the box. But that doesn't mean other guns don't need to be broken in.

I love all kinds of guns. And I never said I LOVED low-end guns. I said I was interested in the Taurus.
That has nothing to do with what I said. Nice off-topic retort.

Yeah, I can understand that. I assume you are using the same ammo? You might want to try using something else just as a curiosity.

While I've had Kahr's do strange things while new, it wasn't like they were unshootable; I'm talking in the order of a malf every couple magazines or so. If you are having trouble getting through a single mag, there might be a bigger issue at play.

Sucks to hear, as I love mine.

    lol what a POS.

1 thing I really hate about the Kahr is, it's a bitch to disassemble. Good thing it comes with this little orange plug, that you put into the opening, when the slide is back. Then, I smack the pin with the base of the magazine to force the pin out.

Without that little orange tool, I'm pretty sure I cant tear it down. :o:coolugh:

Look man that's just how equipment works, it fails sometimes. Glock sack riders may think they are superior because their guns shoot every time but other people may not need guns that are reliable.

You post hot women, but other than that you're a fucking moron. Get over yourself, and get over your Glock fetish.
Or, modify your Glock so it can suck your dick. Oh wait, it doesn't come that way from the factory? Boo hoo.

There are other guns on the market. Get over it. Sometimes people want something other than Glock.
