    hmmm...

i added the first .MOV file i found to my iTunes 4.8 library, then added it to my playlist for my iPod mini just to see what would happen when i tried to sync my iPod?

"...because they cannot be played on this iPod." (meaning that perhaps there are at some point going to be some iPods on which they can be played?)

i say we're going to see video support on the color iPods very soon.

iTunes 4.7 doesn't mention 4.8 when it checks for updates; you have to downoad it from the site. maybe they're keeping it on the DL because its just the first step of a grand scheme...

    video ipod?? :x:

    gotta have 4.8.

all i did was drag a .mov file over my library window and it automagically added it to my library. the play button plays the video in the window where you'd usually see album art.

I have 4.8, but I think my problem is I was trying it with .mpg files.

.mov is simply a container format; QT/iTunes' ability to play the file back is dependent purely on the codec used to encode the video/audio.

:dunno: i don't think it would be that great, watching videos on a 2" inch screen.

Well, it would be fun to show those smaller web videos to people.
