oh my that is tempting....those ipod photos are so sweet.

i wish apple would just go ahead and make the video ipods though since we all know they can and will do it whenever the market is right.

i have a 4GB Mini right now, but will probably pick up a 60GB Photo since I've been re-ripping all my stuff in Apple Lossless format and actually will need more space.

Question: so i purchased an ipod mini for my sister sunday night using the educational discount so it was a over $200, then today i got the email saying they dropped the price down to $178.46, so logically i'm thinking sweet, good for her ya know, then i find out they had doubled the battery life, is there a way that i can stop her order from being shipped since it hasn't been shipped yet and get her a new newer model 4gig mini? i'm not qorried about the price since it will still be cheaper than her original order.

I was joking about the fact that people can't just buy one of the 30 different sized iPods, but instead wish for a specific size that they themselves would only want.

But, a 2 gig shuffle would rule all

i picked up a silver 6gb ipod mini today at the apple store in soho. 18 hour battery life  that was pretty much THE main selling point for me.

How does Apple Lossless sound. I have yet to try it out as a format for myself. I have a 4G, 40 gig and I love it. I want a mini for some stupid reason, and I might now have to pick one up.

Probably not. Way too long of a time span.

Call Apple ASAP and have them adjust your order with the 6th gen for the same price. It worked for Formz.

The shuffle has an 18 hour battery life. Apple doesn't advertise it, but it does.

    http://www.ipodlounge.com/reviews_more.php?id=6138_0_6_0_C

Apple's older iPod hard drives were power efficient, but nowhere near as efficient as the shuffle's memory chip. Consequently, the iPod shuffle promises 12-hour rechargeable battery life just like a fourth-generation iPod, but in our testing, the new battery beat Apple's official estimates. In our first test, the battery ran for exactly 18 hours and 30 minutes - roughly 17 hours before its red "battery low" light came on. Another test ran for 16 hours and 42 minutes, almost 40% more than Apple's stated numbers. Recharging took around three hours, though Apple estimates four - there was good news all around on the power front.

Apple Lossless sounds good. It takes up a lot of space because, as the name implies, it is a lossless format.

    WTF!
I bought my 4G mini from the apple store about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Do you think there's anything I can do? The battery life is horrible (realistically around 2 hours).

2 hours for the mini is really bad and you should take it to the store to get fixed. Doubt they'll give you a new one though.

  25. Apple's Photo iPod, show people your pictures on a small screen wherever you go, only $349 US and you can be the coolest person around, with pictures!!!

    :wtf:

I really don't get the point with them.
