Now I understand how they're doing Zaphod's second head, plus Marvin's voice is spot on..

I haven't read this book, but everyone has told me it's hilarious. Now that I'm seeing the trailer I can see why they think that. This is definitely a fun looking movie, I'll have to read up on it a little more....might have to catch this one in the theaters.

Better yet, read it, then read the other four in the trilogy.

I'd imagine that someone who sees this without reading the books first will be a little lost and probably wont enjoy it as much as someone who's read the books.

Read the books, every person should read them once in their life.

sounds like you guys are pretty loyal fans. in fact everyone I know who has read it is pretty rabid about it. I guess I will try and go see the movie, and I'd like to read the book first if I have time.

The only thing I've read of his is Cat's Cradle. He's a great author, but they're nothing alike. At least not based on my limited experience.

I'd say it's more like Spaceballs, except much funnier, with much more sophisticated humor.

The only thing I've read even remotely as funny are the Terry Prachett books... but Hitchhiker's > *

Douglas Adams wrote the screenplay adaption before he died. So no worries there about someone else fucking it up. The people producing the movie were either friends of Adams or had them as consultants. The same way that The Salmon of Doubt was released after he died. They wanted this movie to be an homage to him. It will be incredible.

Am I missing something? Or why does Zaphod only seem to have 1 head and 2 arms?

Kazmont...good to know Adams was so involved. I've found movies almost always turnout better when the author is heavily involved in making the film. Seems like a promising sign for this movie.

I am dying to see this too. I was a big fan of the books as a teenager, and it looks like they're trying to make the best movie version possible. It will be interesting, and I'm curious how the movie will end, because the first book kind of just leaves you hanging as the gang head out to the Restaurant. And I never pictured Marvin being so short!

I continue to be intrigued and amused by everything I see and read about this film. Does anyone know what other movies are coming out that weekend? With the fan base this film has, it seems like it could be a lock for a #1 opening.

oh nice, I want to see Sin City for sure anyways, but seeing the Hitchhikers trailer would be a nice bonus. Was it the normal trailer or the one making fun of other movie trailers?
