Picked up a Ruger P89DC for a decent amount. Supposedly he only put about 500 rounds through it since he bought it new. Figured it was cheap and I was looking for a 9mm.... Anyone have any comments on this? (Yes, I know it's a Ruger :mamoru:)

Lovely blurry pic from my phone:

Hmm.....well, it's just for starters. I'm probably going to order a Walter P99 in the next month.

I'm okay with the lack of a safety on it. I'm not going to be carrying it (No CCW) so for now it's for target practice. I might look into Glocks, but I just don't like way they look.

Years ago I used to have a P89 and a P85. They were real accurate, never jammed (even with after market 15 round mags), and cheap. I could never get used to the shape and weight balance of the guns though, so I traded them off. For $200 I think you did alright as long as you are comfortable with it.

My father in law has one, and I've shot it a few times. Trigger pull sucks (esp. the DA) but that is about all I have to say negative about it. Reliable, accurate, nice finish.

I'd pay $200 for one without batting an eye.

Well, sounds like it should be an okay gun. I haven't even had a chance to go out and practice with it yet, but I hope it'll work well for me.

Thanks for the comments......keep 'em coming

Id buy one for $200 :dunno:

I've owned a P89 actually, and it was pretty nice (well the trigger wasn't so nice, and it was heavy, but they're reliable as hell).

Yeah now that winters back I'm thinking about picking up a 2nd 10mm gun something fullsize to carry in the winter. Just haven't decided what to get yet.

Yeah I collected up enough brass to get a decent reloading run in. Its pricey to practice with it :hsd: Before I had only been shooting up a few mag's when i went to the range, atleast now I got some of my reloads and can do a few extra mag's. Hell since I got the 10mm I haven't bought to many non c&r guns just cheap stuff and sold a couple higher value rifles. :hs:

I'd love to try it, but it's so expensive :o

I don't have to change my grip to use the decocker, just have to move my thumb up to release it. :wiggle: Could still fire it if needed.
